今回のブリストルではほとんど写真を撮っていませんでした。

宿泊ホテルは、The Bristol Hotel。前回泊まったホテルで夜中の騒音のトラブルがあったので、今回は違うホテルにしたようです。わたしも色々検索しましたが、ブリストルには素敵なホテルはないので、ホテルを楽しむということではなく単にブリストルで過ごすために泊まるというスタンス。お部屋の写真を撮り忘れていましたが、スイートを取ったのでベッドルームは小さかったのですが小さめのラウンジもあったので、ソファーやアームチェアーに座ってゆっくりと過ごせるのは良かったです。窓の外は、川になっていて、川沿いにたくさんレストランなど並んでいます。

I found out that I didn’t take many photos of Bristol this time.

We stayed at “The Bristol Hotel” this time.  In the hotel we used on our last visit we had some trouble with very loud noise until 2:00am so my husband chose a different hotel this time. I did quite a lot of searches online but didn’t find any nice hotel in Bristol so we were staying there just to be there rather than to enjoy staying in the hotel.  I forgot to take photos of the room but there was nothing special, the bedroom was very small but we had a suite so it had a small lounge, where we could relax on the sofa or the armchair.  Outside the window, we had a view of the river with lots of restaurants.

 

 

 

 

 

あちらこちらでクリスマスのライティングを見たのに、写真はこんなのしかありませんでした（笑）。

We saw lots of Christmas lights here and there while we were walking in the city but I couldn’t find many photos with them, these are all I took.

 

 

 

クリスマス・マーケットも覗いてみましたが、何も買わず、何も食べず。

We also walked in a Christmas market, but didn’t buy or eat anything there.

 

と、こんなのしか撮っていませんでした。行った日は着いたのが５時ごろでもう暗かったので、ディナーに出かけただけ、最後の日もランチをサクッと食べただけ、メインだった土曜日は甥たちと集まったのがランチタイムだったのでそれほど時間がなかったのとすごく寒かったので、本屋さんに行ったのとクリスマスマーケットを見て歩いたくらいで、あまりうろうろしませんでした。

それでも、普段田舎に住んでいるので、活気のある街を歩いたりレストランにいるだけで楽しかったです。

These are the only photos I took.  On the day we got there, it was already 5:00pm and dark so we didn’t go out other than for dinner and we only had a quick lunch on the day we left.  On Saturday, we saw our nephews at lunch time, so we did walk a little after lunch but it was quite cold so we didn’t spend a lot of time outside.  We walked along one shopping street, went into a large book shop, and walked in a Christmas market but went back to the hotel relatively early.

We still enjoyed our stay in Bristol.  Living in the countryside, we  do miss cities and really enjoy the liveliness of a large city.
