今日は、ヘイスティングの近くにお住まいのお友達ご夫婦（夫の大学時代からのお友達）とクリスマスランチをご一緒しました。お互いの家の真ん中くらいのところにある、初めて行った「The Abergavenny Arms 」というパブ。

We had a Christmas Lunch with our friends (my husband’s university friends), who live near Hastings.  We tried “The Abergavenny Arms”, which is about in the middle between us and them, for the first time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

またまた前菜とデザートの写真を撮り忘れてしまったのですが、わたしと夫はクリスマスランチの２コースにしました。わたしは前菜とメイン、夫はメインとデザート。わたしは前菜にカマンベールのフライをオーダーしましたが、４人でシェアしました。メインは、ターキーにしましたが、これは失敗。ターキーは臭みが強すぎて食べられず（夫は食べました）、人参は電子レンジで柔らかくした食感でしたし、ローストポテトは何時間オーブンに入れてたのかなという出来でしたし、全体的においしくなかったです。

I forgot to take photos (again) of the starter and the dessert, but my husband and I took their Christmas Lunch course – both 2 courses but my husband had the main and the dessert and I had the starter and the main.  My starter was fried Camembert but we all shared.  The main was turkey – but the turkey was very gamy so I could not eat it.  The carrots had the texture of when it’s cooked in a microwave, roast potatoes were obviously sitting in the oven for a long time…  it wasn’t nice, not enjoyable at all.

夫のデザートは、クリスマスプディングでした。

My husband had Christmas Pudding for the dessert.

 

 

 

食事は残念でしたが、お友達ご夫婦とはキャッチアップが出来て楽しかったです。

Shame about the meal but we had a lovely afternoon catching up with our friends.
