土曜日は、ヒートウェーブでアップルドアも30度まで気温が上がっていたのでどうなることかと思っていましたが、風が通る作りになっているので海風が通って思っていたよりはマシで、上の階がリビング、ダイニング、キッチン、下の階にベッドルームという造りなのでベッドルームは上より気温が低く24度だったので持ってきた扇風機を使えば結構快適に眠れました。
On Saturday, there was a heatwave everywhere and it was up to 30C in Appledore, too, so we were very worried how hot the house would be when we arrived but fortunately it wasn’t too bad at all. The house is built in the way that the breeze goes through the house and with the sea breeze it was OK. The house has living/dining room and the kitchen upstairs and the bedrooms downstairs so the bedroom was relatively cool (24C) and was quite comfortable to sleep in with the fan we brought.
この日はわたしと夫だけだったので、夕食は街にある「Flame Factory」というレストランにいきました。夜には気温が下がって外は気持ちの良い風が吹いていて良い感じだったのですが、レストランの中は暑く、しかもわたしたちのテーブルはピッツアオーブンのすぐ側でとても暑かったです。後から気づいたのですが、テイクアウトして外のテーブルで食べている方たちもたくさんおられました、そうすれば良かったです。
It was just my husband and I on Saturday so we went to “Flame Factory” in town for dinner. The temperature dropped in the evening and it felt very nice outside, but inside the restaurant was very hot. Our table was right in front of the pizza oven, which made it even worse. We realised later that we could have had a take away and had it at one of the outside tables in the street, we saw many people doing that afterwards.
前菜らしい前菜がなかったので、ピッツァを1枚ずつオーダーしました。夫は、サラミ類たっぷりのピッツァ、わたしはハムとパイナップル。
We didn’t see any suitable starters so we ordered a pizza each – my husband had the one with lots of salame and I had ham & pineapple.
デザートは、アイスクリーム。夫は、バニラアイス、わたしは塩キャラメル。
For dessert we had ice cream, my husband had vanilla and I had salted caramel.
土曜日と日曜日は、綺麗な夕日も見られました。
We had beautiful sunsets on Saturday & Sunday.
