今回、タオルミーナには5泊したのですが、見るところといえばギリシャ劇場と小さな教会がいくつかあるくらいで、街も小さいのでお店の数も見るものもそれほどないので、ちょっと長過ぎたように感じました。前回滞在したのが9年前で、景色が素晴らしかったことくらいしか覚えていなくて、余り移動はしたくないし、ゆっくりしたいと思い5泊しましたが、レンタカーなしで辺りをウロウロ出来ない場合、4泊、なんなら3泊でも良かったかもしれません。ただ、3泊だとお天気が悪い日があるとちょっと物足らないかなとも思います。

We stayed in Taormina for 5 nights this time because I didn’t want to move to another place and wanted it to be a relaxing stay, but we felt 5 nights was a little too long when we didn’t have a car so we could drive around the area. There are only the Greek Theatre and a few little churches to see and the town itself is so small there aren’t that many shops to check out. 4 nights or even 3 nights may be enough, although if it rains for one of those days it may not.

そんなわけで、退屈してしまいエトナ山へのツアーに行って、余り見る機会のない景色を見ることが出来て良かったとは思っています。

So we got a bit bored and took the private tour to Mt Etna, which was very interesting and a great way to learn about Mt Etna and I’m glad we took it.

ホテルにはプールが2つあって1つは温水だそうです。わたしたちのお部屋のすぐ近くのプールは温泉ではなかったですが、景色が良いのでプールサイドでのんびりとも思ったのですが、パラソルを広げても座るところは影にならないので、残念ながら無理でした。

The hotel has 2 pools, one of them being heated. The one near our room wasn’t heated but I thought it would be nice to relax there pool enjoying the beautiful view. However it was impossible to get any shade from the parasols so it wasn’t possible to sit there.
