お友達のお誘いで今日はお友達ご夫婦と West Dean Gardens で待ち合わせて、あれこれキャッチアップをしながらぶらぶらと４０分ほど歩き、最後にカフェでおちゃんとケーキをいただいて来ました。最後にキャッチアップをしたのはわたしたちの旅行の前だったの数ヶ月前、お互いの旅行のことなどたくさんキャッチアップが出来て楽しかったです。

We met our friends at West Dean Gardens this afternoon and walked in the gardens for 40 minutes or so, then had tea and cake in the cafe.  The last time we met them was a few months ago before our holiday to Italy so we chatted about each other’s holidays and various other things.  It was lovely to catch up with them.

日本は紅葉の時期かと思いますが、イギリスはもうすっかり冬で、冬にイギリスは雨や曇りの日が特に多くなります、でも今日はとても良いお天気でした。お天気予報では３時ごろから曇って４時には雨が降り出すとありましたが、幸い、まだ雨は降っていません。わたしたちがお茶を終えて出て来たときもまだ空は明るかったです。

It’s probably the time for colourful autumn leaf time in Japan but here in England it is now totally winter and we get a lot of cloudy or rainy days in England in winter.  However, it was very nice and sunny today.  It was expected to get cloudy by 3:00pm and start raining around 4:00pm but fortunately it hasn’t rained yet.  When we came out of the cafe it was still quite bright.

クリスマスの前にもう一度、来週お目にかかれる予定があるので楽しみです。

We will meet them again next week, which will be the last get-together with them before Christmas and we are looking forward to the occasion.
