昨日はお友達と一緒に Hillier Garden Centre でのクリスマスリースのワークショップに参加しました。去年はチェックするのが遅くて空きがなくて行けなかったのですが、その前の２年は同じお友達と参加していますし、１度夫とポットやハンギングバスケットにお花を植え込むワークショップにも参加したことがありました。スタイル的にはもう少しモダンなのが好みですが、こういうことをするとクリルすます気分が盛り上がるので参加するのは楽しいです、いつも十分材料を用意してくださり、参加費は途中の休憩でのお茶とミンスパイもついて50ポンド（１０,３５０円）。

I took a workshop for making a Christmas Wreath at Hillier Garden Centre in Chichester yesterday afternoon with my friend.  Last year we were too late to check on the status and all the workshops were full except one which had just space for one person, so we didn’t take it.  Before last year we took it on the year before last and the year before that.  My husband and I also took a workshop of planting pots and hanging baskets, too.  Although I prefer a more modern style rather than traditional one like these, doing things like making a wreath makes me feel Christmassy.  I also appreciate how nice people are there and very generous with materials.  It was £50 per person which also included tea and a mince pie at a break.

飾りは、シナモンやオレンジのスライスのドライや丸ごとオレンジ（中身はくり抜いてスリットが幾つか入ったもの）のドライ、ツリーに飾るボーボル、松ぼっくりなどが用意されていましたが、わたしはシナモンだけを使い、家にあった自然にドライになったパープルの紫陽花とリボンを飾って真ん中にキャンドルを置いてテーブルで使うことにしました。シンプルですが、ダイニングルームやリビングルームと合う色合いで、気に入っています。

The decorations for the wreath were things like cinnamon sticks, dried orange slices, dried whole oranges with some slits (no insides), Christmas baubles, pine cones but I only used cinnamon sticks and added some naturally dried hydrangeas in mauve colour that we had at home, plus a piece of ribbon.  We’ll be using it as a table decoration with a candle in the middle rather than putting on the front door.  It is very very simple but the colour goes with the dining room and the living room so I quite like it.
