昨日も書きましたが、昨日は「Exbury Gardens」に石楠花を見に行きました。我が家から車で１時間ほどのところにあります。ニューフォレストにあるので去年３月末にニューフォレストのコテージを借りていたときにも行っていますが、もちろん芍薬には早すぎる時期でした。今回は見頃ではないかと思って行きましたが、今年はあまり気温が上がっていないせいか、綺麗に咲いているものも沢山ありましたし中には散り始めたものもありましたが、見頃はまだこれからのように思いました。機会があれば何週間か先にもう一度行って見たいと思います。芍薬より少し遅れて咲くさつきやつつじはまだまだな感じでした。とっくに終わったと思っていたブルーベルが意外と結構残っていました。 As I wrote yesterday, we went to “Exbury Gardens”. Garden Update
今日もすごく良いお天気になりました、暑いくらいです。気温は１９度ですが日影でも薄いシャツとスケスケカーディガンで気持ち良いお天気。 It’s another beautiful sunny day today. The temperature is 19C but it feels quite warm even in the shade and it felt good to be out with just a very thin shirt and a very thin cardigan. 木曜日と今日の午後（涼しくなってから）、数日前にガーデンセンターで買ってきた植物の植え付けをしました。玄関に置いている中くらいのサイズのポット２つとバックガーデンの手前のパティオの大きなポット２つと奥のパティオの大きなポット２つ。どれも朝のうちに夫がそれまで植えてあった植物を取り出してくれていて、植え付けだけで昨日２時間くらい、今日１時間半かかり、昨日も今日も植え付けが終わってから夫が後片付けをしてくれたので、合わせると４時間以上かかっています。 On Thursday and yesterday in the late afternoon, we potted the plants we bought at the…
Raclette
今日の夕食は、ラクレットでした。ラクレットのグリルの周りはかなり熱くなって、サラダが暖かくなってしまうくらいなので、ラクレットが出来るのも今日辺りが最後かも。ラクレットはスライスしたものがあるのを発見して、最近はスライスしてあるのを買っています、薄くスライスするのが結構難しいので。１０枚入っていて大抵わたしが４枚、夫が６枚食べていますが、今日はわたしが３枚、夫が５枚で２枚余りました。サラダもたっぷりですし、ポテトやパンも食べるのですぐにお腹いっぱいいなってしまいます。 Today’s dinner was Raclette.
