Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) & Udon

Not all the sakura (cherry blossoms) come out at the same time, even in the same area, but the majority of them are at the best these few days in our area in Japan and I guess by the end of this week most of them will have fallen.

We were planning to take my Mum out yesterday to show her the cherry blossoms but it was raining so we postponed it to today.  In spite of the forecast of sunny weather, it has been quite overcast but at least it wasn’t raining.

We drove along the Shukugawa river so my Mum can see the pink clouds of cherry lossoms  – they were at the peak and really beautiful but I couldn’t take very good photos from inside the car.

After that we had lunch in a Udon restaurant near Mum’s place.  I loved their vegetable tempura – not oily at all, so good!

After lunch, we went to a supermarket, then had coffee in a coffee shop.

It’s a hard work for everyone to take Mum out.  Moving from the bed to the wheelchair then from the wheelchair to the car is exhausting for her and it’s hard pushing a wheelchair in narrow space in the supermarket, but if it doesn’t tire her too much it’ll do her good.  Hopefully, from now on, it’ll get warmer and she’ll be able to be taken out now and again.
