今日は、月に１度伺っている Carpo でのレッスンでした。先月は比較的月の初めの方に伺って今月は月末なので、とても久しぶりな気がします。今日も、大きなシャペトル。濃いめのパープルのとっても大きな紫陽花３つがメインの花材でした。他にミント、ルブス（実もの）、ユーカリ、コリアンダー。コリアンダーを花材として使ったのは初めてですが、日本では結構よく使われる花材なのだそうです。匂いもしっかりコリアンダーです。

I attended my monthly flower class at “Carpo” this morning.  Last month, I took a lesson earlier in the month so it felt like I hadn’t been there for quite a while.  I made a large Champetre as always.  The main material was 3 huge dark purple hydrangeas and the rest is mint, rubus, eucalyptus and coriander.  I’d never used coriander for a bouquet but apparently they are popular in Japan.  They smell quite strongly, too.

紫陽花は本当に大きくて、他の花材の茎は細いので持ちにくく感じましたが、なんとか完成。紫陽花はどんな色も好きですが、色的にダークな色が特に好みという話をしたことがあったので、わたしが好きな色だと思ってこの紫陽花を選んでくださったとのこと、ありがとうございます！

The hydrangea are huge and the rest of the materials are quite thin so I found it a little difficult to hold them while making it, but I managed.  I love any hydrangeas but my teacher told me she chose these because she thought I liked this sort of colour – and she is right, I tend to like darker colours more for flowers of a bouquet.

練習のために小さな花束のレッスンも受けてみたいと思いながら、やはり大きな方が映えるのでついついずっと大きな花束ばかり作っています。

I’ve been thinking I should try to make a smaller bouquet but a large bouquet makes such a difference to a room.

こうして写真で見るとそう思いませんが、相当大きな花束です。
