今朝もこれまで通り、Hello Fresh のデリバリーがありました。出来るだけ買い物に出かけたくないので、今週は５食分オーダーしました。

The delivery from Hello Fresh came as expected, luckily there haven’t been any problems with them so far.  As we are trying not to go out for shopping often, we ordered 5 meals from them this week.

その中から、今日の夕食は、「Fragrant Chicken Laksa」（香り良いチキンのラクサ）。以前も赤パプリカ入りのチキンラクサをオーダーしたことがあり、そのあと野菜のラクサもオーダーしました。夫がすっかりラクサファンになり、今日も大喜び。ラクサの本場のシンガポールに住んでいましたが、以前も書いたように普通ラクサというと本来シーフードなのでわたしは食べたことがないのです。マレーシアにもあって、マレーシアのラクサの方がスパイシーで美味しいと聞いたことがあります。なんにせよ、Hello Fresh のものは本場のものとはかなり違うであろうと想像します、なにしろ味付けは主にタイのレッドカレーペーストなのですから。基本的にそのレッドカレーペーストとピーナッツバターとレモン汁で味をつけて、青ネギや赤いフレッシュの唐辛子、シャンツァイ、ライムの皮で香りづけをしていて、ココナッツミルクでこくをだしています。多分ラクサとは違うとは思いますが、これはこれで美味しいです。私はもう少しココナッツミルクの割合が少ない方が好きですが、夫はこのこってりさが好きみたい。

My husband chose “Fragrant Chicken Laksa” out of those 5 meals for tonight’s dinner.  We have ordered chicken laksa with red pepper and also vegetable laksa before and my husband became a big fan of laksa.  Laksa is one of Singapore’s local food and we lived there for 10 years but we’ve never tried it because it is seafood noodles, I don’t think I’ve ever seen any other laksa there.  It is also a local food in Malaysia and I’ve heard their laksa is more spicy and more delicious – of course it probably depends on who you ask!  Anyway, I doubt very much if this one is anywhere close to the real thing because the main seasoning is Thai red curry paste.  The flavourings are Thai red curry paste, peanut butter and lemon juice with added spring onion, fresh red pepper, coriander leaves and lime zest for the fragrance, and coconut milk for richness.  Even though it’s not really like the real thing, we enjoy this.  I personally prefer to use less coconut milk as I find this very rich but my husband loves it this way.
