Italian Sausage Casserole


Today’s dinner was Italain Sausage Casserole.  The recipe is here, but we used a lot more vegetables (than the ratio), didn’t use ketchup but used left-over tin tomato and a touch of sugar, reduced the amount of Worcestershire Sauce.  Maybe because of using a lot of vegetables, it tasted quite sweet and very tasty.  When we cooked some of these Italian sausages simply in the oven, I wasn’t able to eat my share (2 small ones) because they were very salty although they tasted great, but they mellow in the sauce when you cook them like this and they easily went down – I could have had more.  The whole casserole was quite light and it was very good.
