いよいよ、今日の夕方に旅行に出かけます！午前中にチチェスターの美容院で髪を染めてもらってから、Brasserie Blanc でしっかりランチをしました。明日の朝、バルセロナに飛びますが、朝早めのフライトで交通事情によっては家から2時間以上かかることもあるので前日の今日は空港のホテルで泊まることにしました。空港近くで美味しいものは食べられないと思うので、お昼をしっかり食べて、夜はサンドイッチかスナックにしよう、というプラン。本当はアランデルのタイタイムに行きたかったのですが、最近は週末以外はランチタイムは開けていないようです。確かに、平日のランチにたまに行くとガラガラだったのでクローズするのは賢明かも知れません。

We are on holiday from this evening! I had my hair coloured in the morning in Chichester and we had a big lunch at Brasserie Blanc. We are flying to Barcelona tomorrow morning and the flight is relatively early. Besides, it could take more than 2 hours depending on the traffic from home to the airport so we decided to stay at a hotel at the airport. Not much chance to get something good for dinner so we had a big lunch and we thought we would have sandwiches or some snack in the evening. I wanted to go to Thai Time in Arundel for lunch but it looks like they are closed for lunch except on weekends. Whenever we were there for lunch, there were hardly any other customers, so I suppose it’s wise to close for lunch during the week.

夫は、前菜にゲームのテリーヌとルバーブのチャツネ、美味しかったようでした。

My husband had Game Terrine with Rhubarb Chutney, which he enjoyed.

わたしは他に食べたいと思うものが見つけられず、また、バゲットとディップ。

I couldn’t find anything else I fancied so I ended up having baguette with dips again.

夫のメインは、ラム。これも、美味しかったそう。

My husband had Lamb for the main, which he said was good.

今日のメニューは、わたしにはあまり食べたいものがないメニューで、仕方なくメインはビーフバーガーにしました。パティーがとても大きいので3分の1くらい残しました。まぁ、まぁ。

Today’s menu wasn’t good for me and I couldn’t find any main I really wanted, so I had a burger. The patty is too big for me so I left about 1/3. It was OK.

デザートに、ルバーブとアーモンドのタルトをシェアしました。タルト生地はしんなりしてしまっていましたが、それなりに美味しかったです。

We then shared Rhubarb and Almond Tart. Tart case was soggy but it did taste good.
