水曜日は、Sheffield Park に紅葉を見に行って来ました、我が家から車で１時間ちょっと。ナショナル・トラストなのでメンバーになっているわたしたちは無料で入ることが出来ます。このところあまりお天気が良くない日が多かったのですが、水曜日は久しぶりにとても良いお天気で、旅行前に行ける日は水曜日しかなかったのでとてもラッキーでした。

On Wednesday, we went to Sheffield Park to see the autumn leaves, it takes a little more than an hour from home.  As it’s a National Trust place and we are members it’s free for us to get in.  The weather hasn’t been so good recently but it was a beautiful day on Wednesday, which was the only possible day we could go there before our holiday so we were very lucky!

Sheffield Park にはイギリスから引っ越して来た翌年から毎年行っていると思います。日本に比べると鮮やかな色の木々は少なめですがイギリスには赤くなる木はあまりないので、ここにはある方です。なので、全部が赤や黄色ではなくグリーンとの対比を楽しむ感じです。とっても綺麗でした、多分ピークじゃないかと思います。旅行から戻ってからでは遅すぎるので、行って良かったです。

I think we’ve been here every year so far since we moved to England.  Comparing to Japan, there aren’t that many colourful trees here but they have more of them here than usual, there aren’t many trees that turn red in England.  So you don’t get a whole area in red and yellow like you may expect but it’s still beautiful with green.  I think it’s the peak now, it would have been too late if we waited until we come back from holiday so I’m glad we went.
