今日のランチは、夫は先日買った小さなポークパイとチョリソやチーズやトマトやコールスロー。わたしは、昨日食べきれず残していたソーセージとコールスローのサンドイッチ。パンは、ウェイトローズのチャバタ。M&Sのチャバタの方が好みですが、これもまずまず。 Today’s lunch was from our fridge. My husband had mini pork pie, chorizo, cheese, tomato and Coleslaw. I left some sausage last night so used it with some Coleslaw to make a sandwich. The bread is Ciabatta from Waitrose. I prefer the one from M&S but this wasn’t too bad.

Sun Bathing

We Love Tea
ロンドンでは、お茶をたくさん買いました。パリでも買いたかったけれど、時間切れ。 We bought a few packets of tea leaves when we were in London. Sausages & Roasted Mixed Vegetables
今日のディナーは、Waitrose で買ったマリネした野菜(玉ねぎ、パプリカ、ズッキーニ、トマト)とお肉屋さんで買ったソーセージをオーブンでローストしたもの。ソーセージは普通のものとハーブたっぷりの2種類。ハーブたっぷりのものの方が好みでした。 For today’s dinner, we roasted sausages that we bought in a butcher in town and mixed vegetables (onion, pepper, courgette and tomato, already sliced or chopped and marinaded) in the oven. Chilli Toast
今日のランチは、一昨日のチリコンカーニが余っていたので、トーストにのせました。ピザ用チーズをのせて焼きたいところですが、買っていなくて残念。家なら大抵冷蔵庫にあるのですが。パンはM&Sのリュスティック。 Today’s lunch was left-over Chilli Con Carne from the day before, served on toast. I wish we had pizza cheese to put on top and let it melt. If we were at home we almost always have some in the fridge. Chicken Marinaded in Mango & Coconut
今日の夕食は、昨日ウェイトローズで買ったマンゴーとココナッツでマリネしたチキンの胸肉。マリネした状態で売られているものを焼きました。ポテトのローストと市販のリンゴ入りコールスロー。なかなか、美味しかったです。 Today’s dinner was Chicken breast marinaded with mango and coconut that we bought at Waitrose yesterday. It was sold marinaded and we cooked it in the cottage. We had it with roasted potatoes and Coleslaw (with apple – also from Waitrose). We enjoyed it.
A Drive in The New Forest

Avocado Toast
今日のランチは、我が家のおうちランチの定番の、アボカドトースト。相変わらず、すごく美味しいアボカドではないけれど、まずまずでした。パンは、M&Sの大きなチャバタ。外側がかりかりになって美味しいです。イギリスでのパンの中では、一番好み。 Today’s lunch was Avocado Toast, which is one of our staples for lunch at home. The avocados weren’t brilliant but OK, and the bread (large Ciabatta from M&S) was good. The outside becomes nice and crunchy when toasted. This is probably our favourite bread in England so far.

昨日の夕食は、冷凍していたスープやサラミやチーズとパン。仮住まいなので、自炊はなかなか難しいのですよね。今日、更に食料品を買いに行ったので、しばらくは外食せずにいけるかな。 Yesterday’s dinner was soup (which we had made and frozen before we went to Paris), salami, cheese and bread. 今日は、雨→あられ→曇り→晴れ→雨→晴れ→雨→晴れ、と数分ごとにコロコロ変わるお天気でした。こんなお天気は虹が出るお天気よねと言っていたら やっぱり出ました。薄っすらだったので写真は撮らなかったのですが。 We had strange weather today. It rained, went cloudy, then hailed, then sunny, rain, sunny, rain…. we were saying we should see a rainbow in such weather and we did! It was only a faint one so I didn’t take a photo. 今日は、あれこれ必要なものをスーパーに買いに出かけました。イギリスもコロナウイルスによる死者が10名になり、いろいろなものの買い溜めがされています。わたしたちは、必要以上に買い溜めすることに反対なので余り買い置きをしていなくて、消毒するワイプの手持ちがもうすぐなくなるのでロンドンでもパリでもここでも見つからず困り中。元々イギリスにはああいうものはそう置いていないですしね。ジェルはロンドンで小さなのをいくつか買いましたし、家に帰ればシンガポールにいた時に日本から送ってもらった大きめのボトルがどこかにありますのでなんとかなると思いますが。痛み止めも不足するかもとニュースで言っていたので、頭痛持ちのわたしはないと不安で買いに行ったら最後の1箱が買えましたが、いつまで不足するのかな。イギリスに来てグンと頭痛の頻度は減りましたが、来るときは来るんですよね。 We did some supermarket shopping today.
