少し前から咲きそうだったので心待ちにしていた、ちょっと変わったチューリップが咲きました。フリルみたいなチューリップが咲きそう、と思っていたら、フリルというより。。。なんだろう、激しくギザギザ？微妙。そして、茎がすごく短くて、形も今のところ丸っこくってあまりチューリップらしくないです。

We’ve been looking forward to seeing these tulips in bloom and the first few started to open up.  We thought they were going to be frilly, but I’m not sure if I would call these frills… they are more like … spiky?  Not sure if they look very pretty at the moment.  They are very short and stubby and round, they don’t look much like tulips except for the leaves.

I guess this one is the same as the ones blooming in one of the pots at the front door.

 

 

この水仙、背が高くて１本にいくつもお花が咲くので離れているところからでも良く目立ちます。

These narcisuses are very tall and have a few largish size flowers on each stem so they stand out.

 

 

 

表玄関の淡いピンクに濃いピンクの線が入っていたチューリップは全体に色が濃くなってきました。

The tulips with very pale petals with darker pink line on each petal are getting darker pink all over.

 

 

 

こちらのポットのチューリップはまだ咲いていませんが、咲き始めると一度に咲きそうです。１つもうすぐ開きそうなのがあるのですが、多分、最初の写真のチューリップだと思います。淡いピンクもものと混じっているようです。

The tulips in the other pot are still just buds but they look like they’ll bloom almost all at the same time.  One of them is looking close to opening up, I think it is the same type of tulip as the first photo’s – but some are different.

 

 

写真を撮るためにお庭に出たら寒くて、「さっむ〜！」と思いながら撮っていたら、雪が降り始めました！ちらちらっと降って、すぐやみましたが。

When I went out in our garden to take photos, it was very cold.  I was thinking “Wow!  So cold!” then I noticed it had started to snow!  It was only flurries and stopped very soon, but it did snow – in April!.
