家の前のグリーンに植えられている小さな桜の木、やっとお花が咲き始めました。桜はお花が先に咲いて後から葉っぱが出てくると思っていましたが、種類によるようですね、目の前の桜は葉っぱが先でした。

The sakura (cherry) trees in the green in front of us finally started flowering.  I thought sakura flowers before leaves come out but it must depend on the kind of cherry tree, these had leaves before flowers.

去年の４月１７日にアップしている写真をみるとほぼ満開なので、去年に比べて今年は２週間以上遅れています。

As you can see on the photos I blogged on the 17th April last year, they were in full bloom then, so they are flowering at least a couple of weeks behind.

 

 

 

 

洋梨やクラブアップルなど他の木の方が先に咲き始めています。

The other trees, like pear and crabapple, started to flower earlier.

 

 

 

お庭のお花をみても去年の１９日のブログを見るとメキシカン・オレンジ・ブロッサムはたくさん咲いていますし、薔薇もさつきも咲いてクレマチスも咲き始めて２７日にはクレマチスがたくさん咲いていますが、今日の時点で薔薇もさつきもクレマチスも全く咲いていません、メキシカン・オレンジ・ブロッサムの最初のいくつかが今日咲き始めたところです。お天気は良いものの、あまり気温が上がっていなくて特に最低気温がとても低いせいだと思います。

 

As you see on my blog post on the 19th April last year, Mexican Orange Blossom were already flowering a lot and even roses, azelias and clematis were flowering and the post on the 27th – exactly a year ago – shows there were many flowers of clematis open by then.  However this year, Mexican Orange Blossom only started to have a few flowers today, but that’s it.  We have been having some beautiful weather this year as well, but the temperature seems to be relatively low, specially the overnight temperature has been very low, I guess that’s why there haven’t been many flowers yet.
