必要なものがったので今日の午後 Waitrose まで行ったときに、花束を買いました。あまり好みのお花はなかったのですが、たまには薔薇も良いかな。パープルがかった濃い赤と濃いピンクがダイニングの椅子の生地と合いそうだったので選びました。バラして葉っぱの処理をしてまとめ直して飾っています。グリーンは最近の流行りらしい、ぺんぺん草（なずな）。シンガポールの花束のレッスンでも時々使いました。昔はただの雑草でしたよね。 I needed to get something from Waitrose so we went there this afternoon and I also bought a bouquet of flowers. このところ、じわじわっと気温が上がってやっと気温的には春らしい気温になりました、今日は最高気温が１６度と比較的高め、最高気温ももう１度、２度ということはなく、６、７度になっています。でも、今日はあまりお天気が良くなく湿度も高くて（８０％近い）じめっとしています。家の中は２６度まであってクーラーが欲しい気温。夜も蒸し暑く感じました。早くクラフトルームにもクーラーをつけなくては！ The temperature has gone up a notch recently and it’s more spring-like, at least in terms of temperature. アネモネが大好きなので去年の春にも２週間に１度のお花が届くたびにアネモネだと良いなと思っていたのですが結局一度もアネモネは届かず、今年も届かなかったので、季節が終わってしまうまえに別にオーダーしました。日曜日にデリバリーされましたがあまり開いていなかったのでボリュームがなかったので、しばらくはそのまま花瓶に入れていました。昨日あたりからすっかり開いて、今日はもう傷み始めて数本は折れてしまったので短く切ってまとめました。 I love Anemone so I was waiting for them to be delivered as our subscripiton flowers last spring but they never came, and they hadn’t come this year either, so I made an extra order for them before the season is finished. Roses
今回の２週間に１度のお花は、濃いピンクがかったオレンジの薔薇でした。葉っぱを落として花束にまとめてしまうとボリュームがなくなってしまうので、上の方の葉っぱは残してそのままストンと入れています。来た時はまだお花がほとんど開いていなくて小さかったのでボリュームがありませんでしたが、２日経った今は少し開いてきてだんだんボリュームが出てきました。薔薇は頭が下がってしまったりすることも多いので、このまま綺麗に咲いてくれますように。 暗い色の壁にはこういうはっきりした色も淡い色も淡い色の壁より映えるのは、暗い壁の良いことのひとつのように思います。 The subscription flowers this time were pinkish orange roses. Tulips
今回の２週間に１回のお花は、チューリップでした。濃いピンクの八重のタイプ。比較的背が高いお花ですし椅子のカバーの色とも合うので、今回はリビングルームではなく、ダイニングテーブルの上で楽しんでいます。 The subscription flowers this time were tulips, multiple layer type in dark pink. As they are relatively short and the colour goes well with the chair covers, we are enjoying them on the dining table this time rather than in the living room.
Hyacinths
木曜日に到着したヒヤシンス、咲いてきています。向かって左側がガラそドアに近い側なので、左側のから咲いてきていたので、昨日、咲いている部分を右側にぐるっと回しました。 The hyacinths that arrived on Thursday are slowly opening up. The left side is closer to the glass door so that was the side opening first, so I turned the vase around yesterday to let the other side get more of the light.

今回の２週間に１度のお花は、予想していた「赤い薔薇」でした。明後日は、バレンタインデーですからね。でもね、何度も書いていますが、個人的には赤い薔薇はほぼ買わないお花ですね。日本だと今はすごく素敵と思う薔薇もたくさんありますけど、ご覧の通り、これと言って特徴のないごくごく普通の薔薇。でも、多分「Naomi」っていう名前がついた薔薇だと思うのです。サイトのバレンタインデーのお花のページを見るとお安い方の赤い薔薇がそうなので。夫はお花といえば赤い薔薇、という人なので、たまには赤い薔薇も良いですが。 葉っぱを取ってブーケにするとこの本数ではすごく小さな花束になってしまうので、丈だけ短くしてストンと飾りました。一番外側の花弁を取り除くようにとのことなのですが、もう少し開くまで待とうと思います。 The subscription flowers this time were red roses as I expected because Valentine’s Day is on the day after tomorrow. 夕食に必要だった玉ねぎと人参の買い置きがなくなっていたので、ちょこっと近所のガソリンスタンドのウェイトローズに行ったとき、お花も買いました。丁度、他のお花は全部だめになったところ。先日の花束とよくにていますが、今回は前回の赤っぽいアネモネではなくパープルのアネモネで、チューリップは白ばかり、そこに白いラナンキュラスも入っていて、こちらの方が好み。パープルと白は大好きな組み合わせ。ガソリンスタンドでこんなお花が買えるのは、とても嬉しい。しかも、お安いし。 We went out to the Little Waitrose at the petrol station near us to get some onions and carrots, which we needed for dinner today. 今日から２月、今年もロックダウンのうちに１月過ぎました。早いような、そうでもないような。。。 It’s February now! A month has gone in the lockdown this year. Vegetable Curry
今日の夕食は、野菜カレーにしました。日本のカレールーも使いましたが、基本の作り方は途中までいつものようにインド風。クミンシードを炒めたところに玉ねぎのみじん切りを加えて炒め、ニンニクと生姜を加え、缶トマトのトマトを少し。しっかり炒めたところにクミンパウダー、コリアンダーパウダー、マドラスカレー粉を加えて炒め、お水を加えてお野菜を硬いものの順番に時間差で加え、最後にカレーのルーを加えました。今日使ったお野菜は、人参、ポテト、玉ねぎ、サツマイモ（日本のもの）、カリフラワー。 Today’s dinner was vegetable curry.
