Playing Monopoly
セイロン・ティー・トレイルズでは夕食の後と〜〜〜〜っても久しぶりにモノポリーをしました。２人なのでそれほど面白くはないですが、それなりに。わたしの完敗でしたが。 At Ceylon Tea Trails, after dinner, we played Monopoly. It’s been years and years since we played it. Playing just 2 of us isn’t as much fun as playing with more people but we enjoyed it to certain point. My husband completely thrashed me.

昨日は、リトルインディアでインドカレーをたくさん食べました。その前の週末はスリランカカレーを２度も食べました。なのに、なぜか今日もカレーです（笑）。我が家定番の、スパイスや缶トマトなども加えていますが、最後は日本のカレーのルーを使ったカレー。 Yesterday, we had lots of curries in Little India. ２ヶ月ぶりくらいのお目にかかるお友達お２人とランチをご一緒しまして。シャングリラホテルの Waterfalls。１度行ったことがありますが、調べて見ると４年も前のことでした。前菜のビュッフェにしました。 I had a catch up lunch with a couple of friends I hadn’t met for a couple of months at Waterfalls in Shangri-la Hotel. Pancake Cannelloni
今日夫が作ってくれた夕食は、パンケーキ・カネロニでした。夫の得意料理ですが、ちょっと久しぶりな気もします。Delia Smith のレシピ。カネロニの代わりにパンケーキ（日本でいうクレープ）でミートソースを包んで、上からホワイトソースをかけてオーブンで焼いたものです。いつものように、とても美味しかったです！ Today’s dinner my husband cooked was Delia Smith’s Pancake Cannelloni. Instead of cannelloni, pancake (what we call Crepe in Japan) is used to wrap meat sauce, it’s covered with white sauce then baked in the oven. Excellent as always.

セイロン・ティー・トレイルズにはメニューはなく、毎日バトラーとシェフと相談してその日のメニューが決まります。オーダーメイド、というふれこみですが、実際はだいたいパターンがあり、シェフから「今日はこれこれで良いですか？」と言われ、異存がなければそれに決まるという仕組み。それぞれのバンガローには４、５組しか泊まれないのでメニューを作って色々なものを作るということでは採算が合わないということだと思います。宿泊者たちのために特別に相談してメニューを決めるわけではなく、あちらの都合という印象を受けましたが、もちろんある程度の希望は受け入れていただけます。 At Ceylon Tea Trails, there is no menu and they say the butler and the chef will come and discuss the menu and come up with something you like.
