イスタンブールとイギリスは２時間時差があるだけなのですが、なぜか毎日早く眠くなってしまい、イスタンブールのブログがなかなか書けずにいます。数日中にはアップしたいと思っていますが。。。 The time difference beween Istanbul and England is only 2 hours but somehow I’ve been feeling as if I’ve been having jetlag and have been sleepy early in the evenings so I haven’t had time to write my blog on our Istanbul stay. Arlington Bluebell Walk & Garden
先述のように、昨日はブルーベルを見に行きました。車で１時間程度のところにある「Arlington Bluebell Walk & Garden」。この辺りのブルーベルはいつもより早い気がしたのですが、意外にまだ早かったようでピークまではまだ１週間くらいあるかな、という感じでした。場所によってまだあまり密集していないところがあちらこちらにあったものの、綺麗なところもあったので、十分楽しめました。ちょっと遠いので夫が面倒くさがるかもですが、夫のOKが出たら来週もう一度ピークを目掛けて行きたいと思います。羊の赤ちゃんも見れました！ As I wrote in my last post, we went to see bluebells yesterday. “Arlington Bluebell Walk & Garden” is about an hour’s drive from us. 一昨日、クルーズ最終寄港地のイスタンブールに着き、船で1泊し、昨日の朝下船してコンラッドホテルに移動し、今日が2泊目、もう明日朝にチェックアウトして、夕方のフライトでイギリスに帰ります。 We arrived in the last destination of the cruise, Istanbul. on the day before yesterday, then checked out of the ship yesterday morning and moved to the Conrad Hotel. 昨日のクルーズ12日目は、トルコのクシャダシという港に寄港して、ツアーでエファソスの遺跡を歩いたのですが、昨日はお天気が良すぎる程よく、予報より気温も上がって24度くらいになり、日陰が少ないところでカンカン照りの中で2時間歩いて汗だくで、しかも足元が悪くツルツルと滑る大理石の上を歩く時間が長かったこともありクタクタになり、ブログをする元気もなく早く寝てしまいました。普段、疲れたと感じることは余りないので、翌日のツアーに参加できるかしらと思うくらいでした。一昨日も暑い中の街歩きツアーで疲れていたので余計疲れたのだと思います。たっぷり寝て、今日は元気復活。 Yesterday was day 12 of the cruise and we were at the port of Kusadasi in Turkey. クルーズ11日目の今日は、ギリシャのロードス島に寄港。今日申し込んでいたツアーも午後1時出発だったので、ビュッフェレストランでサンドイッチ(今日のサンドイッチは卵のベーグルサンド)とサラダでランチをしてから出かけました。 Day 11 of the cruise. We are at Rhodes. The excursion we took was starting at 1;00pm so we had lunch at the World Cafe as we often do – sandwich and salads – before we went off the ship. ツアーは、Rhodes Town Walk. & The Palace of the Grand Masters （ロードスの街歩きと騎士団長の宮殿）、というツアーでした。港は街中にあって船から歩いて10分もかからないところでしたが、今日はさらに気温が上がり22度くらいまで上がりましたし、晴天で日差しが強くとても暑かったです。船のお客さんたちはほとんどがわたしたちよりもご年配で足腰に問題のある方が多いのでツアーで歩く時もゆっくりゆっくり歩くので、カンカン照りの中でもあり、汗をかきかなり疲れました。街歩きが2時間くらい、後宮殿でトイレ休憩を兼ねて20分の休憩の後、40分ほどかけて宮殿の中を歩き、宮殿の外で解散。わたしたちは船に向かう途中のレストランで冷たい飲み物を頂いきながら、少し休んでから、4時半ごろに船に戻りました。 ロードスの街は世界遺産に登録される「中世都市」でとても雰囲気がある街でした。建物の様子が独特で古い建物を見ながら歩くだけで楽しい街だと思います。 We took…
