チャグフォードの街の写真をアップし忘れていました。２日目くらいに寄ったのですが、ここに入れちゃいます（笑）。チャグフォードは今回借りたコテージからも度々宿泊している Gidleigh Park Hotel からも一番近い街になります。ここから右の道を行くとホテル、左の道を行くと今回借りたコテージがあります。デボンに良くある車が１台やっと通れるくらいの幅の道で両側には背の高いヘッジがあり、向かい側から車が来るとどちらかがそういう場合に入れる少し広まったところまで下がって道を譲りながら走らなくてはいけないので、とてもストレスフル。 I forgot to blog the photos of Chagford. Devon Trip Day 4 / Dunster

Devon Trip Day 3 / Castle Drogo
デボンでの3日目だった昨日は、ドロゴ城に行きました。随分昔に2度ほど行ったことがありますが、久しぶり。イギリスで1番新しく建てられたお城で、1910年から1930年にかけて建てられたそうです。高台にあるので風が強くて寒かったですが、雨が降らなくて良かったです。お城の中は、とても近代的で、バスルームのバスタブは一部シャワーブースになっていて最近やっと普通のお家でも使われるようになったレインシャワーや両横からお湯が出てくる穴がたくさん空いていました。 On the third day in Devon, which was yesterday, we went to Castle Drogo. 昨日はランチタイムに食べすぎて、夕方になってもお腹が空かなかったのですが、せっかくデリでレストランのスタッフから美味しいと聞いたパスティ（コーンウォルで昔から食べられていたパイの類い）を買って来ていたので美味しいうちにいただくことにしました。いくつか種類がありましたが、「今日はもうスタンダードのパスティしか残ってない。」とのことでした。わたしたちはいずれにしても普通のが食べたかったので、問題なし。中身はビーフ、ポテト、リーク。思っていたよりビーフが小さく切られていて少ししか入っていませんでしたが、わたしはそれほどお肉がなくても平気なので美味しくいただきました。大きなのと小さなのがあって、大きなのを1つだけ買って半分ずつ。他にもチーズやサラミ類やポテトサラダを買っていたので一緒にいただくつもりでしたが、お腹が空いていなかったのでパスティだけいただきました。他は、今日の夕食にいただきます。 We had such a big lunch yesterday that we didn’t get hungry in the evening.
