昨日、ドゥブロブニックでエクスカーションが終わってからランチをして、その後、城壁を歩きました。この城壁は13世紀に建てられましたが、17世紀に今の形に完成したそうです。入り口は3ヶ所あって、歩く方向は反時計回りと決まっています。1940メートルあり、ざっと歩くと1時間くらいで1周出来るそうですが、わたしたちは途中でドリンク休憩して半分ちょっとのところで下りました。ずっとそうですが昨日も晴天で気温は23、4度だったと思いますがカンカン照りで暑くて、わたしはパラソルをさしていたのでまだ良かったので元気でしたが、帽子だけで歩いていた夫は結構疲れたようで、船に戻ってからお昼寝をしていました。 Yesterday, after the lunch we walked on the city walls, which were shaped in the 13th century and completed in the 17th century. エクスカーションは以前も書いたように1つの寄港地に最低1つは無料のものが含まれていて、場所によってはいくつか無料のエクスカーションがあります。今回クルーズが初めてで様子が分からず色々考えた結果、短めの無料のエクスカーションに幾つかと、やや長めだったり丸一日の有料のエクスカーションに幾つか申し込みました。どれもこれも申し込みたくなりますが押さえて、疲れ過ぎないようにと小さめの街の場合は短いエクスカーションを選びました。午前と午後、1日に2つのエクスカーションに参加されている方も結構おられるようですが、わたしたちは1日に1つだけにしておきました。結果的には疲れが溜まらず、丁度良かったような気がしています。 As I’ve mentioned before, Viking Ocean includes at least one free excursion at each port, sometimes a few. 昨日は、コルフ島（ケルキラ島）のオールドタウンを歩いた後、お料理教室（デモとランチ）というエクスカーションに参加しました。港からバスで10分程度乗ったでしょうか。コルフ島は街のすぐ側に港があるのでバスなしで歩いて出ることも出来ます。オールドタウンでは、19世紀初めの生活を見せてくれるミュージアムにも寄りました。 Yesterday we took a paid excursion in Corfu – “Traditional Flavours & Modern Cuisine of Corfu”. 昨日の夕食は、8時半からイタリアンレストランの Manfredi’s でいただきました。このレストランは事前予約が必要で、わたしたちのステートルームの場合は3日予約が入れられます。昨日は、2度目でした。 Last night, we had dinner at Manfredi’s (Italian) from 8:30. 今日は夕食が遅めの時間の8時半の予約で、ランチは少なめだったので、アフタヌーンティーをいただくことにしました。バーラウンジで何人かのグループが3時ごろにアフタヌーンティーを始められていて、なんでだろうね、まだ３時なのにと夫と言っていたのですが、1つ前のポストに書いたように船時間が1時間進んでいることを知らなかったからで、その時既に4時だったのでした。なので、わたしたちは5時からアフタヌーンティーをしたことになります（笑）。 The dinner booking was a bit late today, 8:30pm, and we had a small lunch, so we decided to have afternoon tea. ポンペイへのエクスカーションが押してピッツァランチをいただいたのが3時頃だったので夕方はあまりお腹が空かず、かと言ってスナックっぽい食事というのがほとんどないので、ワールドカフェで何かつまもうということになりましたが、それまでバーラウンジで飲みものを飲みながら、のんびり。昨日の夕方はいつも座っていたところは西陽が強く入ってきて座れなかったので、本がある場所に初めて座りました。ちなみに、食事中はハウスワイン、ビール、ソフトドリンクなどほとんど無料ですが、食事時間以外はお水、コーヒー、紅茶以外有料になります。 As the excursion in Pompeii (and driving to Pompeii) took much longer than scheduled, our lunch of pizza didnt start until around 3:00pm, so we weren’t very hungry in the evening.
