今日はお昼過ぎまでは曇っていたので、お昼の後少し休憩してまた草取りに励みました。途中からお天気が良くなって暑くなったので１度５分ほど休憩を挟みましたが、２時間くらい頑張りました。夫も途中から参加。大きな雑草はほぼ制覇してずいぶんスッキリしました。もちろん日々成長しますし新しいのも生えて来るのですが、後は毎日しなくても週に２度くらいで大丈夫じゃないかなと思っています。夫に、ガーデナーさんにもっと頻繁に来ていただくようにプッシュ中。ぎっくり腰になるのが怖い。 It was very dull weather until around 3.00pm today, so after resting a little after lunch, I did some more weeding. 明日から３週間お庭の様子を見ることが出来ないので、今日の様子を記録しておこうと思います。今日は夕方まで雨で寒かったのですが、数日お天気が良く暖かい日が続いたのでどんどんアリウムが咲いて来ています。３種類のうち１種類特に大きな種類があるのですが、それはまだ開いていなかったりやっと少し開き始めたものばかりですが、他の２種類（と言っても正直わたしには見分けがつきません）はかなり開いています。少し心配だった匂いは、今のところ感じません。 We are going on a holiday for 3 weeks tomorrow, so I thought I’d record what our garden looks like now. 昨日、今日、とお庭のリノベーションの２段階目の、春植えの植物を植える作業が行われました。昨日、ガーデンデザイナーさんが植える場所に苗を置く作業をされ、今日、ガーデニング会社の作業員の方達が植えて行ってくださいました。昨日はわたしたちはほとんど１日外出していて夕方５じごろに戻ってきたのですが、お庭を見てびっくり！すごい数のポットがずらーと置かれていました。３３０個だそうです。 Yesterday and today, spring planting was done. Garden Update – Alliums
最初はチューリップ？それとも水仙？と思う葉っぱがたくさん出てきて、育つにつれてチューリップでも水仙でもないとわかってきたのですが、たくさんのアリウムが葉っぱを出していて、少し前から蕾も見えてきています。まだほとんどが根本に蕾がある状態ですが、いくつかは茎が伸びてきて、蕾が色づいてきました。あと２週間くらいで咲くかな？ We didn’t know what these plants were, we first thought tulips or daffodils but as they grow a little bigger we could tell they weren’t either of those and found out that they are actually Alliums. ３泊と短い期間いなかっただけですがずっとお天気が良かったので、家に戻ってきたらお庭のお花の様子が結構変わっていました。 We were only away for 3 nights, but the weather has been so good that we noticed quite a lot of difference in our garden since we left. まず、チューリップがいくつか咲いていました。実はチューリップはガーデンデザイナーさんのプランには入っていません。病気になりやすいしうまく行かないケースが多いので地植えはお勧めしないとおっしゃっていて、プランターに植えることにしたのです。なのですが、夫が一昨年だかに植えたものがあちらこちら（リノベーションの時に土ごと動いたのだと思います）からにょきにょきと出てきました。今咲いているのは、３つ固まって咲いているのと１つぽつんと咲いているのと。 There are now some tulips flowering. 数日前に撮った写真ですが、お庭の水仙がたくさん蕾をつけて、最初の１つ、２つが咲きました。写真ではまだ咲ききっていませんが、昨日見たら１つは綺麗に咲いていました。 I took these photos a few days ago, so in this photo, no narcissus flowers are completely open, but one of them was yesterday. クロッカスがやっと２つ咲きました（１つは、蕾）。初めての年は咲くのが遅いらしいです。 Finally, 2 crocuses are flowering (one is still a bud)! Apparently, they take a long time before flowering in their first year. クリスマスに泊まったホテル Gidleigh Park からのクリスマスプレゼントの１つだった鉢植えの水仙はもうすぐ咲きそう。 秋に植えた水仙もたくさん出てきて伸びてきていますが、お花が咲くまでにはまだかかりそうかな。 スノードロップはぼつぼつと植えられているのでそれほどインパクトはないですし、水仙もクロッカスもまだほとんど咲いていなくて葉っぱや茎が伸びているだけですが、ほとんど土だけだったろころににょきにょきと出てきているので結構お庭らしくなってきました。 Snowdrops are planted quite far apart from each other so they don’t have a huge impact at thsi…
