初日と最後の日に泊まった「Gidleigh Park」はこれまでに数えきれないくらい何度も宿泊していて何度もブログにもアップしていますが、わたしたちが世界中で一番好きなホテルだと思います。他にも素敵なホテルはたくさんありますが、わたしたちにとっては一番居心地が良いホテル。もう、多分、３０年近くほとんど毎年宿泊しています。１０数年前にオーナーが変わってスタッフもインテリアも変わって残念でしたが、それでも他のホテルより居心地良く、いつもここに泊まるのはとても楽しみです。 We stayed at “Gidleigh Park Hotel” on the first and the last days of this trip. Anniversary Trip Day 1 / Kingston Lacy (National Trust)
夕方、丁度お茶の時間くらいに家に戻って来ました。いつものことですが、旅行はとても楽しいけれど家に戻るとほっとします。 We got back home today around tea time. St Michael’s Mount
今日は、セント・マイケルズ・マウントというところに行って来ました。フランスにモンサンミッシェルというところがありますが、そのイギリス版という感じ、ですが規模はずっっと小さいです。潮が引いている時は歩いて渡れて、満ちている時はボートで渡ります。今日は日中は殆ど満ちている状態だったので、ボートで渡りました。 We went to “St Michael’s Mountain”, which is like an English Version of Mont Saint-Michael in France, but a lot smaller. St Mawes, Cornwall
コーンウォールに移動しました。ホテルはSt Mawesという街中にあり、お部屋の窓のすぐ外に海。波の寄せる音と共にかもめの鳴き声がずっと聞こえています。 We drove to Cornwall and are at our hotel in St Mawes. The sea is right outside the window of our room and we can hear the seagulls all the time as well as the waves.

今日から結婚記念日旅行に出ています。イギリスはインターネット環境がとても悪くて特に田舎ではスピードが遅すぎてなかなか写真のアップが出来ないですし、今回は短期の旅行なので毎日少しだけ写真をアップしますが戻ってから詳しく書こうと思います。 We are on our wedding anniversary trip from today for 4 nights. Bibimbap
冷蔵庫にあったもやしを食べてしまいたかったので、今日の夕食はビビンバにしました。本格的なものではないですが、お野菜は１種類ずつ（大きなフライパンで数種類入れて）別々に炒めました。入れたのは、人参、赤パプリカ、ズッキーニ、椎茸、インゲン、もやし、牛ミンチ。牛ミンチはニンニクと炒めてタレ（醤油大さじ１、味醂大さじ１、酒大さじ１、砂糖小さじ２）を加えて煮詰めました。盛り付けてから加えるタレは、コチュジャン大さじ１、味噌小さじ１、砂糖小さじ１、酢小さじ１を混ぜました。卵は今日は目玉焼き。今日初めてタレにお味噌を加えてみたのが良かったのか、とても美味しかったです。手に入るコチュジャンはかなり辛くてコチュジャンだけで味付けしようとすると辛さを優先すると味が足りず、味が足りるようにすると辛すぎるのです。そのまま食べられるフライパンに入れるので熱々で食べることが出来るのも美味しく感じた理由だと思います。 I wanted to use the bean sprouts that we had in the fridge, so we had Bibimbap for dinner. Okonomi-yaki
今日の夕食は、お好み焼きでした。暑かった時期はクーラーのないところでのお好み焼きは暑すぎるので、久しぶりでした。いつものように一銭焼きを焼いてから、お好み焼き。 Today’s dinner was Okonomi-yaki. While the weather was hot, it would have been too hot to have Okonomiyaki without air-conditioning, so we hadn’t had it since June. As always, first Issen-yaki, then Okonomi-yaki.

Hanging Baskets
先日ワークショップで作ったハンギングバスケットを夫が吊ってくれました。シクラメンとビオラってあまり増えないイメージですが、どうなんでしょう？もう少しボリュームが欲しいなと思いますが、増えてくれますように。夏にはペチュニアを植えようと思います、でももう少し大きなバスケットの方が良いような。。。 My husband put up the hanging baskets that we planted the other day at the workshop.
