今日は姪っ子が遊びに来てくれているのですが、せっかくなので何処かに一緒に行きたいと思い、家に来るまでの途中にあるペットワースで待ち合わせをしました。数日前にお天気予報を見たら明日のお天気が悪い予報だったので、今日、ペットワースに行くことにしたのですが、２日前に予報が変わり（２日前くらいに変わることが多くて予定が立てられない）、結局小雨でした（涙）。その代わり、明日は良いお天気になりそうです。 Our niece is here today. 金曜日にオックスフォードに来る途中、「Mayfield Lavender Farm」に立ち寄りました。到着して見渡す限りラベンダーな景色を見て、思わず、「Wow！！！」という言葉が口から出るほど、圧倒される景色でした。去年、2カ所のラベンダーファームに行ってみたところは早く行き過ぎたりそれほど規模が大きくなかったりでしたが、こちらは規模が大きく、多分今がピーク。家の近くにもまだ行っていないラベンダーファームがあるのですが、まだオープンしていないので、イギリスの中でも結構時期に違いがあるようです。 On Friday on our way to Oxford, we stopped at “Mayfield Lavender Farm”. Japan Centre (Ichiba) & Petersham Nurseries
ロンドンから戻って来た日は、途中で２ヶ所の寄り道しました。１ヶ所目は、Westfield という大きなショッピングモールの中にあるジャパンセンター Ichiba。ジャパンセンターは２店舗あり１ヶ所には以前行ったことがあるのですが、こちらの方が大きいようだったのでこちらに行ってみました。でも、思っていたより小さく品揃えも少なくて、期待はずれでした。ネットショップでは買えないラーメンとか店舗なら置いてあるかもと思っていたのですが、品揃えは多分ネットショップと同じかなと思いました。お野菜もあまり種類はなかったです。 On the way back home from London we stopped at two places. West Dean Gardens
比較的近くにお住まいのお友達ご夫婦と「West Dean Gardens」にご一緒しました。お互いにメンバーになっているので、何度かここでご一緒しています。この数日とっても良いお天気で、気温は低いので日陰では寒いのですが陽の光が眩しくて陽に当たると暑いくらいでした。ところが、今日はお天気が悪く、冬に逆戻りしたように寒く感じました。まだ最低気温は４度、５度、今日の最高気温は１２度でした。来週は少し気温が上がるみたいです。 We went to “West Dean Gardens” with our friends, who live relatively close. 今日は午後から、今年初めてブルーベルを見に出かけました。近くにあるブルーベルがきれいと聞いていた「Eartham Woods」にまず行ってみたのですが、見つからず。多分いつもはきれいなのだと思うのですが、最近木を伐採したようでその関係でいつものように咲いていないのではないかと思います。ということで、その近くの 「Slindon Woods」に行ってみました。見渡す限りブルーベルの絨毯、というほどではなかったのですが、そこそこ広がっていました。ブルーベルって写真だとあまり綺麗に写らないのが残念です。 We went out this afternoon to see bluebells for the first time this year. Tulip Festival At Pashley Manor Gardens
今日は「Pashley Manor Gardens」というところにチューリップを見に行きました。我が家からは少し遠くて１時間半ほどかかりますが、ヘイスティングのお住まいのお友達ご夫婦のお家から近いところにあるので教えていただいて、去年一緒に初めて訪れました。 We went to “Pashley Manor Gardens” to see tulips today.
