今日のランチは、「風月」で関西風お好み焼きと焼きそば。お好み焼きはちょっとソースが多すぎるけれど、キャベツたっぷりで柔らかいところは好き。焼きそばは、もっと細めの麺が好み。関西人としては、やっぱりお好み焼きは自分で焼くのが一番好みに焼けるよね、と思う今日この頃。 Today’s lunch was Kansai style Okonomiyaki and yakisoba at “Fugetsu”. Okonomiyaki had too much sauce, but I liked that it had lots of cabbage and not so much batter. For the yakisoba I prefer thinner noodles. As someone from Kansai I must say I like the Okonomiyaki that I cook myself best, though.

Japanese Toast
先程書きましたが、今日は喫茶店でモーニングを食べました。日本のサンドイッチは美味しいと書きましたが、日本のトーストも美味しい！ちなみに、イギリスのトーストは日本のいわゆるサンドイッチ用のパンくらいの薄い食パンをカリカリになるまで焼いています。家庭では1斤を厚めにスライスしてトーストする家もありますが、厚めと言っても日本のトーストほど厚くはしません。わたしは、イギリス式の薄くてカリカリも香ばしくて好きですが、日本のトーストの外はカリッとしていて中はふわふわなのも大好きです。 As I wrote earlier, we had a set of toast and coffee/tea at a coffee shop. こちらは、ある日の中華料理店でのランチ。こんなものかな、という感じだったのでどこかは書きませんが、賑やかだったので人気のようでした。わたしはメインに酢豚を選びましたがわたしには少し酸味が強く、妹たちが選んだ鶏肉に甘酸っぱいソースをかけたものの方が美味しかったです。ショウロンポーが思っていたより美味しかったのですが、生姜の千切りがタレについてこないのが残念でした。香港に住んだ時期が長いので、中華料理はシンガポールでも日本でも感激がないのです。 This is the lunch I had at a Chinese restaurant in Japan. 夫が出張の合間の土曜日の夜に日本に来てくれたので、日曜日の夜は家族５人で焼き鳥屋さんに行きました。高校野球や阪神タイガースで有名な甲子園球場の近くにある、小さなカウンターだけの焼き鳥屋さん。こういうお店は日本独特で、夫も大好きなのです。キビキビお仕事をされる様子も気持ちよく、食事も美味しく。あれこれ少しずつ、というのも良いです。５人でお腹いっぱいいただいて、ビールやチューハイもいただいて２５０００円。シンガポールなら３倍かな？ このお店では母がまだ時間をかけて食事をする体力があった頃、焼き鳥が大好きだった母と一緒に何度か食事をしました。母との思い出の場所に行くと、ほろ苦い気持ちになります。 As my husband arrived in Japan late on Saturday night, we all (5 of us) had dinner together on Sunday at a small yakitori restaurant near Koshien Stadium. Day 5 In Japan / Back To Fukuoka
湯布院で２日過ごした後は、福岡に戻って１泊し、翌日の朝早い便でシンガポールに戻りました。湯布院から福岡には、高速バスで移動しました。２時間だったので、一眠りするうちに到着しとても楽でした。オンラインで予約してチケットは携帯に送ってそれを見せるかコンピューターに送ってプリントアウトしたものを見せるというシステムで、プリントアウトをもし忘れたり失くしたらと心配で携帯に送ったのですが、それはそれでもしインターネットが繋がらなかったらと心配でしたが、無事乗れました。ここでも、乗っていたのはほとんどが韓国の人でした。 After 2 days in Yufuin, we went back to Fukuoka for 1 night before coming back to Singapore on an early morning flight on the following day.
