A Lot Of Meetings And Lunch At The Swan
今朝も早起きして家まで行き、午前中はインテリアデザイナーさんやバスルームのリノベーションなどの作業をお願いする方達と打ち合わせをしました。打ち合わせって、本当に時間がかかりますね。気がついたら数時間経っています。 We got up early again to meet our interior designer and some plumbers and a carpenter to discuss what we need them to do. These discussions seem to take much longer than you think they would take. Renouf – Wine Bar In Lyndhurst
今日の夕食は、Lyndhurst の町のワインバー Renouf に行ってみました。何度も前を通っていていつも賑わっているようで気になっていました。 For dinner tonight, we tried Renouf in town. We’ve seen it many times and it always looks busy, so we wanted to try it. オリーブやフムスやチーズやハム、サラミ類などのボードをシェアして、ワイン3種類がセットになったものを2種類(夫とわたしとそれぞれ違うセット)をオーダーしました。チーズとハム類はそれぞれ3つずつ選ぶというシステムです、わたしたちはチーズへブルー・ヴィニー、ブリー・ド・モー、コンテを選び、ハム類ははチョリソ、セラノハム、ブレサオーラを選びました。パンやチーズビスケットも付いてきます。どれも美味しかったです！チップを入れて48ポンド(6900円弱)。 We shared a board of things like olives, hummus, cheese, cured ham etc and ordered a set of 3 wines ( wine flight) each – different…

今日は、親しいお友達ご夫婦に新しい家のご案内をしました。この3週間弱の間Lyndhurstのコテージを貸してくださっている、とてもお世話になっているご夫婦です。家で待ち合わせて、ぐるっとご案内して、コーヒー／紅茶を飲みながらキャッチアップして、車で10分程度のところにある「The George」というパブでランチをご一緒しました。 Today, we had another easy day. 昨日の夕食は、街の中華に行きました。前菜は、野菜の揚げ春巻き。メインは、メニューにはなかったのですが、酢豚と麻婆豆腐が出来るかお聞きしたところ出来ますよ！というお返事だったのでその2品とメニューからサヤインゲンのガーリック炒めをオーダー。酢豚の豚肉は臭みなくカリカリで美味しく、ソースフライド少し甘すぎますが許容範囲で美味しくいただきました。麻婆豆腐も美味しかったです。サヤインゲンも普通に美味しく頂きました。デザートは、ココナッツの殻に入ったココナッツアイスをオーダー。アイスではなく、ココナッツクリームを冷凍したものだと思います、ヘビーで余り好みではなかったです。 Yesterday, we went to a Chinese restaurant in Lyndhurst. 今日は、荷解きはお休み。朝から雨だったので、サウスハンプトンにあるウェスト・キーというショッピングモールに行きました。滞在しているコテージから車で20分ほど。少し前に行ったのですが、その時は時間がなくジョン・ルイスというデパートでサンドイッチを食べてテレビを買っただけだったので、他は見なかったのです。 We had a day off from unpacking today! Nearly Done (For Now)
今日も荷解き、朝6時起き、9時半から5時まで頑張りました。ランチブレイクを30分ほどとっただけであとはずっと立ちっぱなしで荷解き。この歳でこれだけ出来れば上出来では？(笑)。 Another day of unpacking. I got up at 6.00an again, we drove to our house, and unpacked from 9.30am until 5.00pm. We had a 30 min lunch break but other than that, no break, no sitting down. Pizza Night
外食も気が進まないものの、疲れてもいて、食料品を買いに行くのも面倒。で、少し前に行ったイタリアンに行きました。ピザバイトが美味しかったので今回はピザとサラダをオーダーしてシェアしました。マルガリータ・ロイヤルという、ブラッタチーズ、トマト、ペスト、ロケットのピザにしました。まぁまぁ、かな。もう少しカリッとした方が好みなのと、ペストが多すぎて食べているうちにべちゃっとしてしまって残念。ピザバイトの方が美味しかったです。 We aren’t too keen on eating out now but we were tired and didn’t really feel like doing food shopping either so we went back to the Italian in the town. Making Some Progress
荷解き２日目。1枚目が今日のキッチン、2枚目が昨日のキッチン。こうしてみると余り変わらなく見えますが、積み上げている箱は、一応全部一度開けて、グラスなど割れやすいものはそのままですが、グラス類以外は取り出して梱包材を捨て、リノベーションが終わるまで使わずに行けそうと思うものは詰め直した箱で、右側の大きなものは明日業者の人に出してもらうテーブルです。もちろん、棚や引き出しの中身はこれから練り直し必要がありますが、一応キッチンの荷解き完了。3枚目は今日のリビング。夫はリビングルームやゲストルームやお庭などの荷解きをしてくれていました。 The 2nd day of unpacking. 昨日のディナーは、再びタイ料理レストランの「The Thai Forest」に行きました。デザート以外は、前回とは違うものをオーダー。海老トースト、マンゴーサラダ、グリーンチキンカレー、ご飯。サラダとカレーの辛さを聞かれてミディアムとお願いしましたが、辛めでした。辛めですがお砂糖もたっぷりで甘いので、わたしにはちょっと甘すぎました。タイ料理も甘すぎるところが多いですね。デザートは、バナナのフライ。 Yesterday we went back to the Thai restaurant “The Thai Forest”.
